Khilji out to repeat heroics

BILAL Khilji hit the ground running for new club Delph in the Drakes Huddersfield League.

The former Stayley and Micklehurst professional struck an unbeaten 116 and took three wickets in the defeat of Barkisland.

The 32-year-old all-rounder followed up with four for 44 in the six-wicket win over Paddock in the first round of Romida Sykes Cup.

Delph return to premiership one action tomorrow, and Khilji will be looking to continue his splendid start to the season against his previous employers.

Grant Jones’ side visit Emley Clarence, for whom the Pakistani averaged just under 47 last season.

Delph’s second team are at home to Armitage Bridge in premiership two.

AUSTRALIAN fast bowler Luke Swards has made quite an impression for Woodhouses in the Lancashire County League.

Two five-wicket hauls, the second against Dukinfield last weekend, have helped the Medlock Road outfit to consecutive wins.

And Tasmania-born Swards, in his first season at Woodhouses, will be hoping for more of the same at home to Glodwick tomorrow.
