Pay Scale: Point 16 to 20 of Sixth Form College Support Staff Pay Spine
Hours: 37 hours per week
£16,400 (£16,800 including living wage top up) - £17,700 for full year
or £14,532 (£14,957 including living wage top up) - £15,684 for term time
Overall Purpose of Post:
Ensure that only enrolled students and authorised visitors are on the college premises.
To give assistance to college visitors and members of the public as required.
To monitor and control college CCTV and security systems.
To ensure all incidents are recorded and brought to the attention of the Director of Resources.
To diffuse potentially difficult situations in a tactful and appropriate manner.
To provide support to members of staff in potentially difficult situations with students or unauthorised visitors.
Locking and unlocking the college as required, activating and de-activating intruder alarm as applicable.
To act as a member of the College First Aid team.
To carry out routine patrols of the college building and grounds.
Assist in minor cleaning and removal of spillages and litter throughout the day.
Maintain all security related equipment and working areas to a high standard of cleanliness.
To provide assistance to the Estates team as required for items such as:
a. maintenance work and cleaning
b. preparing rooms for college functions
c. preparing rooms for exams, on-site and off-site
d. assist with the receipt of deliveries and portering duties
e. control of daily contractors such as waste collection
f. provide support in an emergency evacuation situation
g. aid in keeping the college grounds, building and immediate area in a presentable and safe condition
h. be part of the snow clearing team.
