STEPHEN Robinson bemoaned another frustrating afternoon and indicated that in hindsight he regretted not making changes to the line-up that had beaten Scunthorpe:

"We played well at times and put a lot of balls into the box. Goals change games - we said that on Tuesday night - and we conceded from set plays twice, which absolutely kills me.

"This week has probably said everything about the season, going from a high to a low in a short space of time.

"Three or four players looked tired and we were concerned about that. We had certain players we felt might struggle from their recovery from Tuesday and I take the blame - maybe I should have changed the team wholesale.

"When you beat the league leaders it's difficult to justify a decision to do that.

"There were still good performances and chances for us to get something out of the game, which we didn't quite manage to take.

"Our performance was fine. We created chances and moved the ball about well.

"I have been with managers who out 60 balls into the box in training on Friday and concede, and managers who never do it at all and never concede.

"It's really down to individuals. If they have a desire to stop their man scoring then they will do it."

Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke says there is still more to come from his side, after they moved up to fifth in Sky Bet League One:

"I am really pleased and I still think we are only at 80 or 85% of what we are capable of doing.

"I am delighted we showed so much resilience and defended really well.

"It's about winning matches first and foremost and I made five changes, so I am glad it worked.

"It is really pleasing the way the lads all stick together, whether or not they are playing.

"You have never cracked it in this game and there are areas in which we need to improve.

"We are a positive frame of mind as one defeat in 11 is a great run. But we have got to keep improving."
