ATHLETIC are close to reaching agreement with amateur club Failsworth Dynamos about the use of facilities at the proposed site of the new stadium at the Lancaster Club.
Officials of both clubs met this week - for the third time - and Athletic’s chief executive, Alan Hardy, said: “Things are moving along nicely. We have had meaningful discussions .
“I am sure we can reach agreement because we share the same vision.
“We all recognise there is a need to improve facilities for grassroots football in the town. Hopefully we can help play a part.
“The modern 3G pitches we are thinking of should be well used by the likes of Failsworth Dynamos and other local sides.”

It would be nice of OAFC & oldham council to meet the other local sides, Avro football club who have played from the lancaster club since the 1940's have 11 teams, 8 of which play on the site who have not had the courtesy to be included in the talks!!im sure the local council has thought this through grass root football is the life and soul of football and im sure OAFC who share the facility at the moment with AVRO juniors will not want to evict the football club from its home
