Forest target Sheehan

Date published: 06 October 2009

ATHLETIC are in danger of losing Alan Sheehan, who has just kicked off the second month of a loan from Leeds.

Championship club Nottingham Forest are understood to be keen to sign the 23-year-old left-back (below).

Sheehan, who has impressed during his time at Boundary Park, has apparently caught the eye of Forest manager Billy Davies.

Leeds have a 24-hour recall clause in the current loan deal so Athletic could lose the popular Sheehan with little warning, though they say they have received no word about the loan ending early.

Forest could then take Sheehan, who Leeds are looking to sell, on a three-month loan before signing him permanently when the transfer window reopens in January.

Sheehan was recruited by Athletic because of their left-back injury crisis as Joe Jacobson, Rob Purdie and Paul Black were all ruled out at one stage.

Former Eire under-21 international Sheehan has become a big hit at Boundary Park and scored a stunning goal in last Tuesday’s home win against MK Dons.

worth buying this lad, best LB we have had for a good few years and can help Taylor find his form again.
TTA spent £75k on Colebeck so they must have money to burn, £75k would have been better spent on the poor toilets at Boundary Park !

Its the wages I would see as the stumbling block. Agree, great performances since arriving.

Is that PLEB Chaddybender reading this "FOR SALE". I would love this player at Boundary Park, but since their arrival how much have these clowns spent on players since they arrived (bought not loaned) very very little.

I don't really understand how TTA made their money. There's the redevelopment of BP fiasco and they can't see what an investment opportunity is. If you BUY a player, you can maybe sell him later for a profit. If you LOAN a player, you'll never make anything. Sheehan's performances for Latics are going to make some nice extra cash for Leeds.

Mr Plonker Oldham Scumland, you said Latics weren't doing enough to keep Sheehan, well they managed to keep him another month you IDIOT, and if Forest offer big wages its obvious what the outcome will be, you may have fotgot we couldn't buy him as the transfer window was shut. Please have another horlicks and go to sleep in your armchair for the rest of the season, oh and by the way does Mr Owen know you personaly as he wrote a piece on you called STAY AWAY FANS
