Latics match off at weekend
Reporter: Athletic by Matthew Chambers
Date online: 07 January 2010
Athletic's home game with Leyton Orient on Saturday has been called off.
The decision was made early in conjunction with the Football League in order to prevent the London club from making an unnecessary trip north.
The Boundary Park playing surface is covered in snow, with two-inch thick ice underneath.
In addition, the areas surrounding the ground are unsafe.
With no game this weekend, attention switches to the derby clash away at Stockport County on Saturday, January 16.
Athletic's next home game is the rearranged fixture against Tranmere Rovers on Wednesday, January 20 (7.45pm kick off).

If all the games left this season are cancelled, we will stay up!
ever blaming the weather on the three amigos now, you plank" when we can put out a regular fit team ,halfway finish , no problem. - realist!
Not if its down to a pools panel result ammy lol!. I doubt that spacebeagle they are not that bright, besides they are more worried about dipping into their own pockets than to worry about me, will not be long before Corney is bleating again about fans and money ohhh and they have knocked down the phone kiosk down the road for more flats.
Oldham Scotland for goodness sake change the record.
Clearly you do not read the news about the Football Clubs living beyond their means. Notts County (the wolds oldest football club) are facing a winding up order because of unpaid bills - is this what you want for Oldham !!!
By the way who exactly do you think is paying the bills when the club is not generating any income Gordon Brown !!!!!!
OS, on what grounds do you assert the TTA 'are not that bright'? I doubt you've ever spoken to them. Could it by any chance be that they have put themselves in the firing line from people like you? As MAD4IT said, why don't you change the record? Life is too short to be spent as a 'glass half empty' fool!
Mad4it, they could use the tax concessions for the club experiencing money problems, but i doubt they have even thought of that, they are a business and can apply. And lo and behold two days later who is on the back page of the chron moaning like i said MR CORNEY! who even forgot to cancel the catering for a match called off mid week. And Spacebeagle the last also proves my point to your question!.
Have Your Say

I have it on good authority that all the snow on the pitch at BP was specially ordered by the directors. As was all the snow around the ground. This was done to cause successive postponements, adversely affect the clubs cash flow, provide justification to sell Taylor and to wind up Oldham Scotland!
