Sales boom

Date published: 14 January 2013

ATHLETIC have already sold more than 4,500 tickets for the FA Cup fourth-round home clash with Liverpool on January 27.

Supporters queued in the cold weather yesterday, when tickets were on sale to holders of the Brentford match voucher and season ticket holders.

They remained on sale today under the same criteria, between 9am and 5pm.

Any unsold tickets are to then go on open sale from 9am tomorrow.

Wow home attendance on Saturday was less than 4400 so there must be a few hundred season ticket holders who decided not to bother attending Saturday's game!

They must have known what was coming.

I cannot believe how people can grab onto a bit of glory and not support the team on a more regular basis. I live in Tamworth and am a season ticket holder here, but my team are Latics. I went to both games over Christmas and will be at Coventry. But, as soon as I realised how many fans went to Liverpool last year and how few tickets would be available for this tie, I did not feel justified in taking a seat a more deserving and regular supporter could take. Come on, support YOUR team OLDHAM.

Watch the attendances plummet in league games once the FA cup interest has disappeared. Another abysmal home game and expected result. If anyone thinks Baxter will make that much difference they should qusetion their judgement. One man does not make a team. Maybe tye club hope they will get an offer for him, if he performs well enough, and sell him. I wouldn't put it past them.
