Hartlepool game off
Date published: 12 March 2013
ATHLETIC’S home npower League One clash against Hartlepool tonight has been postponed.
Match official Steve Race made an earlier-than-expected pitch inspection this morning and ruled the temperature overnight had taken too much of a toll on an already rock-solid playing surface.
The rearranged game will be on Tuesday, March 19, kick-off 7.45pm.

The so called "Tourist supporters" can pay their money and turn up whenever they want to, if we had a team with passion and a town that wants a football club we'd see those sort of games every week. Why would people want to come and pay £20 a game to watch what we've been served up for the last 5 seasons? Probably about 40% of our fans don't even live in Oldham, god help us if ever Tameside got a league side.
Another thing, to be honest the "Team" has only turned up this season for the glamour games.
correct oafc4ever. if you think im turning down 200 pound for a 12 hour saturday to watch rubbish or bad refereeing or listen to hard luck stories in a decrepid stadium thats freezing with supporters behind me moaning all the time well unfortunately thats what i do. horrible though.
dont understand where we are going wrong though as the players on paper look half decent. look at walsall and yeovil even leyton orient now. this year with shezzas team i think we might just have pulled it off
To be honest BPorBust there are quite a few of us exiles that would attend every home game IF we could afford it. Truth is times have changed - Portsmouth at home cost me £45 ferry, £80 fuel, £50, £22 Travelodge then of course we had to stock up on stuff (Over £80 in latics shop spent) plus food, drink. I for one cant do that every game on a low wage...Our next game will be Swindon (£150 day) But to think there are them that live 5 mins away from BP and claim to be die hards - when it suits them
IOW: I understand high cost for remote fans is a limitation my comment is really targeted at those who claim to be Latics fans but have stopped coming aside from the big games. As you say 5 mins stayaways.
Oafc4ever: isn't Man City's ground in Tameside (even if its not it is fun telling city fans it is). But I am seriously concerned that new Metrolink line will take supporters direct to Etihad.
You right team have only turned up for glamour matches.

Hope it warms up a little, I was dreading seeing the crowd figure had game had been played tonight.
I am sick of the 'tourist supporters' who only want to go to see the glamour games but refuse to come to the ones that actually matter. No doubt if we get to a relegation knife edge game they will want to come and watch the success or demise.
Leyton Orient here we come!!!
