Fans rush for Liverpool tickets

DESPITE Christmas, Athletic fans have been gripped by FA Cup fever ahead of next weekend’s mouth-watering third-round clash at Liverpool.

After roughly 4,000 Anfield tickets were snapped up by excited Latics season-ticket and voucher holders, the remainder of the 5,755 allocation went on open sale at the Boundary Park ticket office.

That led to lengthy queues of determined ticket-seekers ahead of what promises to be another memorable day out on Merseyside on Sunday afternoon.

This is the third meeting between the two sides in the competition in the last three seasons.



ATHLETIC had a handful of tickets remaining on open sale this morning for Sunday’s FA Cup third-round tie at Liverpool.
