Fired up to regain my place

OUR mini unbeaten run has now been extended to five games with an incredible three points at Bradford City last week.

The name on everyone’s lips is Jonson Clarke-Harris, who put in another colossal performance with two goals and an assist as he tore apart the Bantams defence.

Since the gaffer changed our system, I have been unable to make the starting line-up - which I am absolutely gutted about.

But with only one berth in the centre-forward position, I have no arguments at present.

I am the first to admit Jonno thoroughly deserves to be playing ahead of me, as he is in the form of his life. It was pleasing to see him finally get on the scoresheet, which is the only thing his performances had been missing in recent weeks.

This win was vital, because it gives us a slight cushion over the teams currently in the bottom four while we are without a match until we travel to Colchester on Easter Friday.

A defeat at Valley Parade could have hindered our progress, if tomorrow’s League One results didn’t go in our favour.

The enforced rest seems to have come at the wrong time for us, because when you are performing well and picking up points you just want to keep playing.

This is the sort of mentality I possess. It makes competition for places more fierce and doesn’t allow for complacency.
