Positive Mills puts best foot forward

JOSEPH Mills is determined to help improve Athletic’s recent good run.

The left back has been in impressive form - never more so than in the 1-1 draw at Chesterfield.

Arguably that point will look better in the context of anoher three at SportsDirect.com Park against Coventry tonight.

“Coventry are renowned for being a good side with talented players and this season it is the same,” said Mills, a summer signing from Burnley.

“They have had a few injuries, but we go into the game focusing on ourselves and how we can hurt them. We want to keep putting in the performances we have been doing over the last few games and turn draws into wins.”

Mills (24) is relishing the extra licence to get forward he has been handed as Athletic have cast away restrictive shackles.

“With the way we are playing, it allows me to get forward a bit more whereas to start off with, we wanted to make sure we were solid,” he added.

“We have got the front players to go out and hurt teams and we are finding as a team the way we can play. I’m thoroughly enjoying it.”
