Expectation grows for young guns

Athletic’s teenage trio George Edmundson, Jack Tuohy and Danny Byrnes have signed their first professional contracts with the club.

All three have penned one-year deals, with the option of a further year. They were part of last season’s successful youth team set-up, which lifted the Youth Alliance Cup, crushing MK Dons 4-0 in the final.

Boss Darren Kelly said: "I can remember signing my first contract and it's the best feeling in the world.

"It's an exciting time for the young lads and I'm looking forward to having them on board."
