Corney salutes Dunn’s impact

SIMON Corney has spoken of his admiration for the way David Dunn has set about his task during his time as Athletic’s manager.
Writing in the matchday programme, Athletic’s chairman said: “I am really delighted . . . for the way he has thrown himself into the challenge here.
“He inherited a team low on confidence and he has gone about rebuilding them from the back to the front.
“His first aim was to create stability and make us hard to beat and bar the Scunthorpe game I think he has done that.
“The result against Burton could have gone either way and the little bit of luck we got with the winner against Chesterfield was long overdue and hopefully we can now kick on.”
Dunn himself, speaking after the 2-1 loss to Barnsley, said he will carry on implementing his methods as he tries to get the club moving up the League One table.
“I certainly won’t change,” said Dunn. “As long as I can look myself in the mirror and continue to work hard doing the best I can, then I am pretty happy with that.”
