I WASN’T going to be involved in the squad had the Millwall game gone ahead — so from a selfish point of view, I was almost glad the game wasn’t on!
Hopefully I will get the chance to be involved in the rearranged fixture.
Looking to tomorrow, I’ve had another good week of training behind me so I hope to be involved in some way at Coventry. I played in the in-house game at Fleetwood this week and like the rest of the squad, got in a good 45 minutes, which proved very useful. I felt pretty sharp too.
I also felt sharp when I originally picked up the ankle injury at Mansfield. As the gaffer said to me, itvery much came at the wrong time.
I’ve worked hard since the injury and they have been long days, working on the bike and doing everything else I can to get back up to speed.
There has been work at the training ground too, with more fitness facilities the result, which will be good for us all. The idea is that the improvements offer us a better environment to work in - staff and players alike.
Everyone is looking forward to Coventry, just as we were last week for the Millwall game. We were all disappointed that game was called off, since we felt at the time that it was playable. But it was the referee’s call.
We’ve taken the extra time to work on a few things on the training field.
Hopefully, we can put that hard work into action at the Ricoh Arena.
