Sheridan joins father at SportsDirect.com Park

ATHLETIC’S new recruits feature one prospect with a famous surname . . . Jay Sheridan.

The 16-year-old left-back, who joined the club recently from Barnsley, is the son of Athletic's manager John and will spend the next two years trying to prove himself worthy of landing a professional deal at the club.

Sheridan is one of nine promising players who were formally inducted at SportsDirect.com Park yesterday.

The others are: Chinedu Uche, Tommy Lent, Festus Arthur, Francois Antoine, Tom Hamer, Ned Dry, Bailey Whalley and Joe Boyling.
