ATHLETIC 0, WALSALL 0
Athletic opened the half well and forced the visitors into some last-ditch clearances.
Rico Henry had to be carried off when heading clear a Marc Klok free-kick as home players angled to get on the end of his cross.
Billy Mckay hit a 20-yard effort a couple of feet over the top as Robinson's side pressed, with Walsall relieved to go in at half-time at 0-0.
Walsall started the second half well and Connor Ripley had to save well from Simeon Jackson and then Andreas Makris.
Mckay headed too close to Neil Etheridge and then forced defender James O'Connor into a diving block as Oldham hit back.
Ryan Flynn was denied by the body of Etheridge and on the follow-up, Erwin headed against the woodwork as Athletic failed to make the breakthrough.
