TRUST Oldham have finalised their line-up of legends for Thursday’s ‘A Question of Latics’ at PlayHouse 2, Shaw.

It comprises Ian Wood, Rodger Wylde, Andy Rhodes, Andy Barlow, David Eyres and John Sheridan.

The evening will comprise interviews, chat, open-house discussion, light-hearted debate, a test of Latics knowledge and an open fun quiz.

Included in the price of £12 is a pie supper which will be served in the interval.

Tickets are still available from Richard Attwood on 07590 696973.

ATHLETIC gave one of their most disappointing displays of the season as they were beaten 3-1 by Port Vale at Boundary Park in the North West Conference of the Puma Youth Alliance.

Youth-team coach Tony Philliskirk explained it was a game they could and should have won, but they were punished for failings in both penalty areas.

Athletic’s goal from Chris Rowney was a super effort as he played a one-two with Will McCall before curling a shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

Athletic are away at Shrewsbury on Saturday, kick off noon.

REAL Madrid’s Jesus Enrique Gutierrez Mayor is attending a coaches seminar at Boundary Park in May. Mayor, who has coached Madrid under-14, 15, 16 and 18 teams, will be at the two-day event on May 2/3 which has been organised by the Oldham Athletic Community Trust and Athletic’s youth development department.

He will be performing coaching drills along with Mick Priest, Athletic’s centre of excellence manager. There will also be a question-and-answer session involving head of youth Tony Philliskirk.

The course is being viewed as a fantastic opportunity to develop coaching skills and it is suitable for those who coach any age group.

The cost of the two-day course is £35 and that includes lunch on Saturday.

Booking forms are available from Boundary Park.

MAGNUS Pehrsson, the coach of Aalborg who played Manchester City in the UEFA Cup at Eastlands last week, has links with Athletic.
The 33-year-old made one appearance in English football during a loan spell at Bradford City from Swedish side Djurgardens.

That sole game played by the midfield man was against Athletic at Valley Parade in November 1996, but does not hold happy memories.

Pehrsson was substituted after an hour and City lost 3-0 at home with Stuart Barlow scoring a hat-trick for the Boundary Park side.
