What made Manchester and how did it become the cotton capital of the world?

These are the questions that will be answered in tomorrow’s meeting of the Failsworth Historical Society at the Broadbent Luncheon Club on Lord Lane at 7pm.


MAKE new friends in a supportive, non-judgmental, alcohol-free environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people aged 16+. THERE will be a walk for members and friends of the Hollinwood Canal Society this Sunday. The circular walk of 51/2 miles will look at the features of the Fairbottom Branch, Fairbottom Bobs, Rocher Vale and Park Bridge, and will involve some hills.
