Residents with queries can put them to Failsworth West Councillor Sean Fielding tonight at the Church of the Holy Family in Lord Lane (6pm-7pm).

Failsworth East councillors Jim McMahon, Norman Briggs and David Dawson will hold a surgery at Failsworth Town Hall on Saturday, from 10-11am.

Failsworth Soccer Centre has plenty of sporting activities lined up until August 28. It costs £5 for a full day and £3 for a half day. On Thursday and Friday, and next Thursday, there will be a free girls-only soccer camp, from 1-3pm. For more information call 0161-688 9745.

Residents can pop in for for some food and a chat at the Impact Community Project’s “food share”, which takes place every Monday, from 11.30am-2pm, at the Collier Hill Community Centre,Vaal Street.


HAVE fun with the whole family on Tuesday, August 26, at the Avenue and Hollins Community Hall, while raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. There will be coffee, tea and cake, tombola, bric-a-brac stalls, arts and crafts and more.


ANYONE with complex needs can take their carers along to the WOW Prospects group at the Roman Road IM church tomorrow. Activities such as arts and crafts take place each week from 1.30 to 3.30pm. Admission is £2 and 50p for carers.


Limehurst Library’s housing support drop-in, which takes place on Friday from 10am, offers one-to-one sessions giving housing advice. Anyone over the age of 16 can ask for support, whether you are a tenant in social housing, private rented accommodation or an owner-occupier.
