A MAN was dragged to the floor and attacked as he lay defenceless near a Failsworth pub.
The victim, in his 50s, walked along Oldham Road near the Lamb Inn between 2 and 3am on Sunday when three strangers began to abuse him about his appearance.
The man laughed it off but was grabbed by the throat and dragged to the floor. The others kicked him before walking off towards the Texaco garage on Oldham Road.
The first man is described as white, in his 20s, thinly-built, 5ft 8in tall and was wearing a shiny grey blazer and a white shirt. A second, also white, was about 5ft 5in with black hair brushed back. He wore a white shirt and grey pants. The third man was not described.
Det-Con Leigh Carnally said: "We are investigating a completely unprovoked and totally cowardly attack on a man who was simply walking home from the pub. We need to find these three men. I would appeal to anyone who has information to come forward.
