Canal clean-up

DO a good deed by helping to clean up the Failsworth canal towpath on Sunday.

BLACKPOOL comes to Oldham on Friday with over 25 fairground rides next to the Hollinwood Metrolink stop. The funfair will be staying until March 1.


PLANNING permission is being sought for a soccer centre at the Lancaster Club site, off Broadway in Failsworth. Councillors will make a decision at the planning meeting tomorrow.


PERFORMERS will enact their adaptation of children’s book “Memory Cage” at Failsworth Library on Monday, February 16, from 2.30pm. The drama is about a boy whose grandad is losing his memory and is desperate not to be put in a home.


ST John’s Church is holding a table-top sale on Saturday from 10am-noon. The cafe will be open for food and refreshments. Tables cost £5. Call 07974-831 467 for details.

Volunteer appeal

VOLUNTEERS are needed to help with the running of Failsworth Youth Zone on the top floor of the town hall on Fridays from 6-9pm. For more information visit the GMP Failsworth & Hollinwood Facebook page.


HOLLINWOOD residents can meet with councillors Ames, Stretton and Williams at St Chad’s Centre in Limehurst on Friday from 6-7pm. Those who can’t make it can see the councillors the following day from 11am-noon at Lyndhurst School on Heron Street, and again from noon-1pm at the Walkers Road Community Centre.
