CAN you sing, dance, do impressions or tell jokes? Showcase your skills at the Holy Family’s Got Talent contest this Saturday.

MAGIC Tony, alias preacher Tony Southwick, will be putting on a free magic show for all the family at the Roman Road IM Church on Saturday from 6.30-8pm. Refreshments will be served during the interval. For more information call 0161-682 476. Meanwhille, pick up some home-made cakes and crafts at the church’s Easter coffee morning from 10am on Tuesday next week.


St John’s Church is holding a books, cards and wrap fair on Saturday from 11.30am. Visitors will also be able to get a spot of lunch at the cafe while having a browse. Proceeds will go towards church funds. To support Christian Aid the church will be having a soup lunch after the following day’s morning service at around 11.30am.

OLDHAM Council’s planning committee deferred a decision on a 51 housing development after residents raised concerns about the proposed new entrance on the former Failsworth Mill site. A decision could be made at the next meeting on April 15.
