Burglary bid

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an attempted burglary in Chamber Road on Wednesday, March 11, shortly after 10pm.

The offender is described as a white male in his 20s, 5ft 7in, average build and wearing a black jacket. He made off towards Manchester Road. Witnesses should call the non-emergency 101 number.


DON’T forget to pick up some bargains at the Hollinwood Market on Sunday at Oasis Academy, from 11am to 3pm.


A BLUE VW Golf GTI was stolen from Moorcroft Street, Limeside, on Wednesday, March 11, shortly before 10pm.


ARTY folk can get creative at the Daisy Nook Garden Centre’s craft fair from 10am-4pm on Saturday and 11am-3.30pm on Sunday.


HELP clean up Failsworth Canal on Sunday. Volunteers should meet at the Royal Oak pub on Oldham Road at 10am.


IF you wish to know more about this year’s Failsworth Carnival, the committee is meeting next Monday, March 30, from 7 to 9pm at the Streetbridge Inn, Roman Road. All are welcome.


GREEN-Fingered residents are asked to donate materials and tools for a gardening club at Failsworth School. The youngsters hope to fill a polytunnel with plants and vegetables. The event takes place on Saturday from 10am at Failsworth Sports Centre.
