Carnival crowns

EVER thought of yourself as royalty? Girls in the borough have the chance to be crowned at the Failsworth Carnival in June.

The royalty categories, open to girls aged five upwards, are rosebud, princess, junior queen and queen. The selection takes place on Sunday from 1-2.30pm at Broadbent Luncheon Club on Lord Lane.

FAILSWORTH residents can speak to local councillor Sean Fielding at the Church of the Holy Family, on Lord Lane, tonight from 6-7pm. Councillors Briggs, Dawson and McMahon will meet with residents at Failsworth Town Hall from 10-11am on Saturday.


THE Girl Guides are back after an Easter break from 7.15pm next Monday at Hollins Church.


SPORTY youngsters can try out their hockey skills on Thursday at Failsworth School. Oldham Hockey Club is starting junior coaching for children aged 10+ of all abilities from 6.30pm.

RAISE any neighbourhood concerns at the police surgery on Thursday at Limehurst Library, from 4-5pm.

LOOKING for work? The Hollinwood work club is there to help out with CVs, filling in job applications and interview tips. The club runs on Tuesdays from 10am at Limehurst Library.
