Rotary club silverware
Date published: 16 December 2015
THE Rotary Club of Chadderton and Failsworth has won a prize for a community project.
The club has received the Rotary North-West Silver Rose Bowl in recognition of its 350 Instant Cash scheme.
The project was the idea of former club president Peter Turner and involves the club working with Voluntary Action Oldham to identify local groups providing a unique service for disadvantaged people.
Each group chosen for a donation of £350 has been selected by all members of the club. Two groups a month are given donations, and some go on to form stronger relationships with Rotary as a result
