MUSIC EXTRA: LEGENDARY singer-songwriter Graham Parker is heading to town with his Rumours band-mate Brinsley Schwarz.

The hugely-popular London duo will be at Uppermill Civic Hall on Thursday. Parker’s energetic performances and quirky blue-collar image are often said to be a major influence on the public persona of many British musicians - most notably Elvis Costello, Paul Weller and Joe Jackson.

Tickets are £20 from Uppermill post office or www.thegigcartel.com.

THEY may be taking a well-earned break at present, but Oldham modsters 5ft Fez have plenty of big gigs on the horizon.

The teenage trio play alongside the Sex P###ed Dolls at the Manchester Academy 3 on April 24, before featuring on another of Drew Stansall’s hugely popular ‘Quadrophenia Nights’ at the St Helens Citadel 24 hours later.

Matt, Joe and Ross will pack out Royton’s White Hart on May 9, while tickets are currently on sale for their prestige slot at the Ruby Lounge in Manchester on June 6 when the lads support Ska Face.

5ft Fez have also been invited to reappear at the Ribble Valley Mod Weekender in September in Clitheroe.

ELECTRONIC rockers Goda Tungl have been holed up in the recording studio putting together the band’s second EP release — a follow-up to 2014’s Applewhite Nettles. Catch the band live at Manchester’s Lock 91 venue on Deansgate on April 21. Tickets, priced £4, are on sale now.

THE Gramotones, set to release new material later in the spring, have secured a sought-after slot at this year’s Festival Number 6 (Portmeirion, September 3-6).

The harmonic Oldham four-piece will star on the Tim Peaks stage at a festival which also features the likes of Belle and Sebastian, Grace Jones, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and the Brythoniaid Welsh male voice choir!

Next month the Gramotones head south to Brighton where they will bid to wow the crowds at the Great Escape festival. The local outfit play on the Saturday night of the shindig, which runs from May 14-16.
