MUSIC EXTRA: OLDHAM favourites Cupids have confirmed an appearance at this year’s Confessional Festival at the amazing disused Holy Trinity Church in Mount Pleasant, Blackburn, on April 30. The hugely popular one-day event is now in its 16th year.

Jake, Sid, Ryan and James will be appearing alongside some terrific bands and artistes, including Jeramiah Ferrari, The Tapestry, No Hot Ashes, Matt Abbott, Lucky T Jackson, Bang Bang Romeo, The Ragamuffins, Flight of Arrows and Good Foxy.

Advance tickets, priced £15, are now available via www.visitblackburn.co.uk/whats-on.

DON’T forget ace tribute rockers ZZ Tops are in town on Saturday when they blast through what promises to be a brilliant set at Whittles on King Street.
Tickets, priced £5, are now available from the venue or the Whittles Facebook page.

On Friday night, Walkway will be hitting the stage at Whittles. They are a cracking original rock band and admission is free.

February 27, will see a fabulous Christie’s Oldham Live fund-raiser taking place at the Lees Live Lounge, inside The Swan on High Street.

There will be tons of raffle prizes on offer, karaoke and kids’ entertainment (until 8.30pm), as well as sets from great local bands Mojo Rising, the Micradotts, the Fabulous Dilly sisters, Tony Auton, Smack the Monkey and Snakesplay.

FRESH from a super gig at the Ferret in Preston, Oldham indie hopefuls the Recreation have announced a great support slot in Manchester.

The talented outfit will support ace tribute outfit the Complete Stone Roses at the Ruby Lounge on February 27. Tickets, £10 available through a link on the Rec’s Facebook page.

I TRUST everyone who attended the Revolution Live — Love Spreads night at Whittles on Saturday had a fantastic night. My review has gone straight online.
