EIGHTIES music fans from across the region are in for a treat on August 6-7 with the return of the Rewind North festival at Capesthorne Hall, near Macclesfield.


The third Rewind North showpiece offers connoisseurs of Eighties music the best two-day line-up of iconic recording artists and performers.

Headliners include Adam Ant, Tom Bailey from The Thompson Twins plus a stellar line-up including Marc Almond, UB40, Rick Astley and more.

WATCH out for what promise to be some truly brilliant monthly band nights at Jackson’s Pit.
The brainchild of Yorkshire Street-based Scoots, Suits and Boots shop owner Mick Harwood, Oldham Rocks will feature “an eclectic mix of bands and solo artistes, covering numerous genres.”

The main theme will be that all the bands and artists will be either based in or have strong connections with Oldham. The first Oldham Rocks night is on April 9, with Shadow Palace the headliners.



NEW indie outfit Shadow Palace have posted a clutch of gig dates on their increasingly popular Facebook page.

Fresh from their recent barnstorming performance at the Revolution Live showcase at Whittles, Harry, Ben, Dan and Danny head for Leeds on Friday to play at the Pack Horse venue.

After the Oldham Rocks show, the lads play the Blind Tiger in Wigan on April 22, before headlining at Manchester’s prestigious yet cozy Castle venue on Saturday, May 7.

They are also at the massive Blackthorn Festival in Compstall, near Stockport on July 22-24.



MAKE sure you’ve got your dancing shoes on at Whittles on King Street on Friday.

Groove Mental are playing, and their name pretty much says it all.

This superb cover band promise 50 shades of Seventies groovy tunes. Tickets are available now, priced £5.

On Saturday, rock cover band Centaur Parting play a free-admission gig.



LOCALLY-BASED singer-songwriting duo Wilson and McGladdery are keeping themselves busy.

They have posted a list of five new live dates on their Facebook page, and included on March 21 is a gig at Apotheca in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
