Egodo targets recall

TUOYO Egodo will be pushing to regain his place in Oldham's back division at Batley on Sunday.

On loan from Castleford Tigers, the 20-year-old Londoner didn't play against Haydock in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup in order to preserve his eligibility for Tigers if required later in the competition.

In his absence Kieran Gill and Danny Grimshaw played well at centre, so it's going to be a tough call for coach Scott Naylor - one of several.

Liam Thompson, after injury, and 19-year-old Liam Bent, on loan from Salford Red Devils, are back in contention among the forwards.

Each of the ten pack men who turned out last week is fit and ready to go again, thus giving Naylor plenty of options for filling his engine room places.

The Oldham boss has also confirmed that, for the first time since the London Broncos game in mid-February, he will have dual reg players from Huddersfield at his disposal.

His one big doubt is full-back Scott Turner. He did a little bit of training last night - first time out since he damaged a knee at Rochdale a fortnight ago - but not with the squad.

Said Naylor: "He remains doubtful, but I'm not ruling him out just yet. We'll take another look on Saturday."

Two weakened teams contested the Challenge Cup tie between Toulouse Olympique and Batley Bulldogs, who enjoyed a resounding 34-16 win.

They did it without Dominic Brambani, Macauley Hallett, James Davey and Cain Southernwood.

Dual-reg pair Will Maher and Tom Holmes, from Castleford, were also withdrawn so they wouldn't be cup-tied.
