Squad scheme’s helping hand

ON-LOAN winger Rob Foxen’s extended stay at Oldham RL Club is being funded by Squad Strengthener.
The scheme helped Roughyeds to sign Miles Greenwood and it will now provide a significant chunk of Foxen’s wages.
He came from Swinton Lions on loan for a month but can now stay to the end of the season — which could be September 2 or up to September 30, depending on Roughyeds’ play-offs record.
“We’ll contribute to his wages while he’s here,” said Nigel Marland, chairman of the Supporters’ Association and one of three ORSA officials who administer Squad Strengthener, a fund built up by fans for squad improvements.
He added: “Since we helped to sign Miles Greenwood more fans have contributed, and we hope to go from strength to strength in time for next season. For now, we are delighted to do our bit to keep Rob Foxen.”
“Promotion may be beyond us, but we’ve four games left — three against teams already promoted — and it’s important we play well and go all out for the play-offs.”
