Dynamic dozen to meet supporters

OLDHAM RL will officially launch their new season with a supporters’ “meet-the-players” evening at Whitebank on February 23.
Coach Scott Naylor, his assistant Lee Spencer and under-20s coach Phil Costin will be there as well as the 22 players who currently make up the first-team squad.
Admission is free and Naylor and his players - including 12 new signings - hope as many fans as possible will attend.
Highlight of the evening will be the presentation to players of squad numbers, which they will wear in every game irrespective of their position. Numbering by position will apply in Sunday's Law Cup game at Rochdale (3pm).
The dozen new boys include 22-year-old captain Lewis Palfrey, who led the side for the first time in a 34-22 pre-season victory over Salford City Reds last Sunday.
Said club chairman Chris Hamilton: "Because we have new coaches, a lot of new players and more new people among the match-day backroom staff we felt the supporters would welcome the chance to mingle with them before the real business starts the following weekend."
