THE remarkable resilience of Oldham prop Jason Boults as been underlined in the latest RFL statistics.

They show ever-reliable Boults has the longest run of consecutive appearances in the Kingstone Press Championship One, having missed only four games in the last three years.

The 29-year-old unsung hero of the Roughyeds' front-row has played in all Oldham’s last 44 cup and league games — he last missed a game in May 2011.

The former Bradford Bulls academy and Halifax forward, now in his seventh season at Oldham, has 162 games for Roughyeds.

Since the new Oldham club was formed in 1997 only two players have played more: Neil Roden on almost 300 and John Hough on 228.

No one has appreciated Boults's contribution to the Roughyeds' cause over the years more than club chairman Chris Hamilton.

He said: "Jason’s record of consistency is all the more remarkable because he plays as a prop, where the physical side of the sport is fiercest."
