LEWIS Palfrey continues to take Championship One by storm.
The 23-year-old Oldham RL captain has been named at stand-off in the division's team of the week.
Palfrey was inspirational in table-topping Roughyeds' 28-10 win against title rivals North Wales Crusaders, kicking four goals, assisting in three tries and leading by example.
Jon Ford, at centre, and Phil Joy, at prop, are also in the week's top team.
So, too, are six players with whom the Roughyeds must cross swords in their three remaining league games.
They are full-back James Anthony and second-row forward Sam Wellings of Skolars, winger Martin Waring, centre Dave Hull and prop Warren Thompson of Rochdale, and hooker Steve Parry of Gloucester All Golds.
Third-placed Skolars, whom Oldham play at the New River Stadium on Sunday (3pm), have two players in the top four of the player-of-the-year rankings - stand-off Mike Bishay and second-rower Mike Worrincy. Oldham’s leading two are Ford, joint fifth and Palfrey, joint seventh.
Skolars are expected to give a home debut against Oldham to new signing Gareth Raynor, the former Leeds, Hull, Bradford, Crusaders and Great Britain international.
