Crusaders pass their big test in London
Date published: 26 August 2013
NORTH Wales Crusaders cut Oldham's lead at the top of Championship One to a single point with their 20-14 win at London Skolars.
All they need to wrap up the title is to win, draw or avoid defeat by more than 12 points in their last game against South Wales Scorpions at Wrexham on Sunday.
Roughyeds are anyway assured of second place by eight points at least, which will give them pole position in the five-club play-offs for promotion.
London's bonus point on Friday saw them leapfrog Rochdale into third place with 30 points – one more than Hornets.
Final placings will be determined on Sunday and, barring surprise results, it's likely that Oldham's bid to win promotion via the play-offs will start with a home tie against London or Rochdale at Whitebank on Sunday, September 15.
