Agoro determined to develop

FITNESS fanatic Mo Agoro did enough in his first season of senior rugby to convince Oldham coach Scott Naylor his future lies at Whitebank.

A product of Leeds Rhinos, the 20-year-old winger has agreed a one-year Roughyeds deal.

Agoro is a third-year student at Huddersfield University, working towards a degree in exercise and health.

"I'm still finding my feet at this level, but I feel I've progressed this year. I'm sure I'll benefit from the

experience," said Agoro, who joined Roughyeds on the recommendation of his former Rhinos boss Barrie McDermott.

"I always knew the step-up to senior rugby from academy would be tough. I scored a few tries, though not as many as I had hoped. I aim to get more next season.

"We had a good season overall, but we let ourselves down in the play-off final and that has made everybody even more determined."

Agoro is the ninth player to sign for the 2014 season. Describing him as a "great kid with loads of potential", Naylor said Agoro did a good job in his debut season.

"He's willing to listen and learn and I can only see him getting better in his second season with us.

“He’s a very professional young man and you can see he's had a good and disciplined upbringing in the game at Leeds.

“We need to keep hold of young players like Mo and give them the best possible chance of realising their full potential.”
