Furious Naylor: result was fair

SCOTT Naylor was furious with his Oldham team's attitude and defensive ineptitude in leaking 44 points at Hemel ---- the most Roughyeds have conceded in a league game during Naylor's time in charge.

Of Hemel's seven tries, six were scored wide against a defence that was outflanked time and time again. Goal-line defence also left a lot to be desired, notably when Evan Simmonds scored the first Hemel try from dummy half.

Said the angry Oldham boss: "I've no complaints about the result. Hemel fully deserved their victory.

They had the right attitude. They ran harder than we did, they tackled harder and they generally worked harder. They looked like they wanted it more.

"Any coach wants his team to play with the desire Hemel showed. They had all the qualities I've mentioned. I didn't get any of them from my team.

"We got in a dog fight and then when it mattered most we couldn't get out of the hole we had dug for ourselves.

"I've no injuries, no problems, and I'll repeat what I said earlier - Hemel thoroughly deserved to win. Publicly, I haven't a lot more to say other than that."
