Langtree is Oldham’s top try man

DANNY Langtree was Oldham’s top try-scoring forward in 2014, narrowly pushing Josh Crowley into second place.

The second-row pair bagged 27 tries between them with Langtree finishing on 14 and Crowley 13.

Over the two seasons they have played in the Roughyeds’ second row they have totalled 44 touchdowns (Langtree 24, Crowley 20), with Crowley playing in all 49 games and Langtree in 46.

Crowley is the first player at the club to put pen to paper on a new deal for 2015, but others are expected to follow suit soon.

Oldham claim to have the best and most consistent pair of second-row men in rugby league’s third tier and it’s on stats like those that they base their high rating.

Despite finishing second in 2013 and third in 2014, and suffering Grand Final defeats each season, Scott Naylor’s men won more games and scored more tries in 2014 than they did in his first season at Whitebank.
