Rugby support for toy appeal

OLDHAM Rugby League Club has joined forces with neighbours Whitebank Cafe to back Key 103’s Mission Christmas toy appeal.

The cafe, at the Whitebank ground entrance, opened in September and quickly had a coffee morning which raised £760 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

In another community initiative the cafe, owned by Leon Hickey, is now a drop-off point for the radio station’s Christmas toy appeal.

The Roughyeds are delighted to join in and offer as much support as they can.

“We are very much part of the Limehurst Village community and we’ll do all we can to help worthwhile projects like this,” said a club spokesman.

The cafe is open to receive toys or donations seven days a week from 8am to 2pm. Cheri can be contacted on 0161-943 0842 or 07756-535 704.

Toys need to be donated by Wednesday, December 17 to allow time for distribution.
