OLDHAM RL head coach Scott Naylor is concerned only with his own team’s preparations for Sunday’s daunting game at Leigh.

The Centurions stormed to the Kingstone Press Championship title last season, winning the Grand Final comfortably against Featherstone Rovers at Headingley.

Paul Rowley’s men have now begun their 2015 pre-season campaign equally as menacingly, beating North Wales Crusaders 12 days ago and then annihilating Keighley Cougars 86-0 in a 16-try rout last weekend.

While Leigh look destined for the Super League next year Sunday’s second Oldham warm-up clash provides another step to what Naylor hopes will be another successful season.

He said: “I’d be very surprised if Paul Rowley fielded a full-strength team against us on Sunday. We just want to get as much out of this latest game as we can.

“We know we’ll be in for a really tough test whatever team Leigh put out. But we’ve got plenty to work on and hopefully we’ll give another good account of ourselves.”

Naylor added: “We played okay against Swinton, and we’ve all sat and assessed the video since. There were a number of things we need to work on going forward. The Leigh game gives us another chance to look at plays and formations.

“It’s all about working hard and building up towards the season opener against Coventry next month.”
