SCOTT Naylor gave a pat on the back to each of his 17 players as he describes their 32-10 cup win at Barrow as one of the best all-round team performances in his time as Oldham boss.
“Don’t even ask me to pick out individuals,” said an upbeat Naylor.
Barrow went 10-0 up in the first 12 minutes, but 68 minutes and half a dozen Oldham tries later his team was putting on an “absolutely outstanding” performance.
“After the first 10 minutes or so the boys started to concentrate on what we had set out to do, and to then go nearly 70 minutes without conceding again sent out a statement which won’t have gone unnoticed throughout the division.
“We worked hard as a team and we were totally committed to the job that had to be done if we were to reach the semi-finals. Not many teams will come up to Barrow and win - and even fewer will score 32 points, so my lads fully deserve every plaudit they receive.”
