THE BASH IS ON . . . watch Oldham’s Sam Gee in Blackpool.
WITH 100 days to go to rugby league’s two-day Summer Bash event at Blackpool for Kingstone Press Championship clubs, Oldham are gearing up for a big weekend out at the seaside.
Tickets are now on sale from the club’s office at Whitebank (9am-1.30pm, Monday to Friday) for Oldham’s game against Swinton Lions on May 29.
All 12 clubs will play over the weekend of May 28-29 in a rugby league equivalent of Super League’s Magic Weekend.
Oldham’s big game against Swinton will be one of three Roughyeds-Lions clashes in the championship this season, and for both clubs those games will go a long way towards determining final places in the table.
“If there was ever a special occasion for Oldham RL fans to turn out in great numbers to back the boys in Blackpool, this is it,” said Oldham chairman Chris Hamilton.
As well as six Championship games and the iPro Sport Cup final, the weekend - at Blackpool’s Bloomfield Road ground - will be packed with entertainment on and off the field.
Oldham fans are urged to get tickets from Whitebank - because it will benefit the club and Oldham fans will be seated in one block.
