Oldham RL 21, Sheffield Eagles 20
OLDHAM RL secured back-to-back wins in the Kingstone Press Championship after a terrific tussle against Sheffield Eagles at Bower Fold.
The hosts were so determined in their defeat of joint leaders Batley Bulldogs seven days earlier, and showed more of the same fighting spirit after trailing by half-a-dozen points at the break.
Scott Naylor's men went in three times through Liam Johnson, Michael Ward and Kenny Hughes, with skipper Lewis Palfrey landing four goals. Palfrey also kicked a crucial one-point field goal, which proved the difference between the two sides in the end.
Nick Fozard (two), Menzie Yere and Matt James touched down for Eagles, who featured ex-Roughyeds George Tyson and Adam Neal in their starting 13. However, Cory Aston was only able to notch two goals for the visitors.
