Naylor 'Working' for more home joy

OLDHAM RL's third win in a row has given them a three-point buffer outside the bottom two in the KP Championship.

They face an awesome task at Bradford Bulls next, but in their final game of the regular season they are at home to bottom-club Workington Town on Sunday, July 24.

"I would hope that we can gear up for the Championship Shield with another home win," said coach Scott Naylor, who fielded the same team against Swinton as the one which won at Sheffield in the previous game.

New signings Jack Blagbrough and Dave Hewitt, who had trained only twice with their new team mates, were given more time to settle into the club.

THRILLING

In a thrilling derby, which Oldham won 26-24, both teams scored four tries, but Lewis Palfrey kicked five goals from five attempts while Swinton's Chris Atkin failed to convert Macauley Hallett's try in the corner.

Commenting on three wins in a row, skipper Palfrey said: "I always knew we would turn the corner. It was just a matter of time for us to regain a bit of self-belief."

Naylor's men are now level on points ­-14 ­- with Sheffield Eagles and Dewsbury Rams, and only one behind Swinton.

Sheffield won 32-14 at London Broncos, Workington pipped Dewsbury 22-20 and Whitehaven crashed 64-18 at Bradford Bulls.
