PURPOSEFUL RUN . . . St Edwards' Alfie Maders charges forward in a match against Mills Hill
AN exciting primary schools' tag rugby tournament was staged at Waterhead's former Counthill school site.
Teams from 16 Oldham schools competed, and at the end of the day the final was contested by Friezland and St Edward's.
GOLDEN-POINT
Friezland eventually edged a close encounter to win with a golden-point try.
Schools respresented during an action-packed day were St Joseph's, Mayfield, Delph, St Margaret's, Higher Failsworth, Mills Hill, St Anne's Lydgate, Knowsley, Clarksfield, St Edward's, Thorp, Friezland, Greenfield St Mary's, St Paul's, St Anne's Greenacres and St Chad's.
