BASKETBALL:
OLDHAM Titans have formed an exciting partnership with Manchester Giants.
The two clubs will share resources and expertise, with the agreement providing a pathway from Oldham’s junior teams to the Giants’ professional British Basketball League side.
Giants legend Mike Bernard will help the Titans develop their club players and deliver a schools-based programme.
Giants head coach Jeff Jones said: “The staff and players of both clubs will work together to help each other grow. It gives us the chance to work together for the benefit of everyone involved and create a synergy between the clubs.”
Graham Herstell, director of basketball at the Giants, added: “We’re going to support Oldham Titans with its community coaching programme and help to build their game.
“It’s also about creating pathways for players for the future for us and promoting the brand of the Manchester Giants.”
Oldham Titans, who have National League teams from under-13s up to under-18s, are a fast-growing club with a reputation of producing talented players.
