CROMPTON House’s talented Year Seven school football team stormed to their first Greater Manchester County Cup triumph thanks to a 4-2 final win over Audenshaw School.
The hosts took the lead through a Danny Duru goal, only for Audenshaw to quickly equalise.
Both sides missed chances, before Daniel Jones restored Crompton House’s lead just before half-time with an excellent finish from long range.
Crompton House captain and player-of-the-match Bailey Marsden extended his team’s lead with an exquisite header in a dominant second period, before Harrison Green made it 4-1 following a perfectly-timed run and finish from a Patrick Killeen corner.
Despite Audenshaw scoring a late consolation goal, Crompton House hung on for victory.
