Luca that strike rate!

FOOTBALL: YOUNG hot-shot Luca Pemberton knows where the back of the net is — in fact he found it 100 times in 18 games last season!

The seven year old was the scourge of defences as he knocked in goal after goal for Chaddy Park Griffins in the North Bury League.

Luca needed to score eight in the final game against Bury Amateurs to complete a remarkable century.

After managing a goal every minute in the opening quarter, he then went from goal-getter to shot-stopper as played the remainder of the first half in between the sticks.

The Greenfield youngster sat out the third quarter, before returning to the pitch to score three more — his last goal and 100th coming in the final minute.

Dad Gary said: “Left foot, right foot, he dribbles and runs past people, Luca can do most things.

“He got five goals in the 6-4 win over Littleborough in the league cup final. He is also a very good in goal — he dives full length to tip the ball round the post.”

Luca’s talents in front of goal have attracted the attention of Manchester City, where he has spent the last 18 months as part of the club’s academy set-up.

Older brother, Zak (13), is also no mean footballer, helping 3D Dynamos under-13s to victory in the 2013-14 East Manchester League Cup final.
