CRICKET: 

CROMPTON’S under-13 team has clinched its section of the Lake Garage CLL with three weeks of the season still to go.

They took the title by defeating Royton at Glebe Street. Crompton made it 10 wins from as many matches when they chased down Royton’s total of 95 for the loss of a single wicket.

Manager Paul Beal expressed his pride at his team’s displays, particularly from in batting. When taking first guard, Crompton have averaged almost 130 runs per game. The team contains six of the top ten run-scorers in the division, and each of the top four.
