THE Oldham RUFC under-14s squad are working hard on the training pitch as they gear up for what team manager Tim Barlow hopes will be another season of progression.
However, Barlow is still on the lookout for new faces with the opening game of the 2016-17 Lancashire Junior Challenge League campaign just weeks away.
Oldham start their league season on Sunday, September 4.
Last season was one of development for the new squad, who secured encouraging results despite inexperience.
There were high points, firstly with five of the squad being put forward for Lancashire trials.
They are flanker Tom Barlow, stand-off Josh Fitzgerald, captain and number eight Max Walsh, flanker Harrison Green and centre Will Lunt.
Meanwhile, recently the squad were selected to be ball boys at the World Rugby U20 Championship and they lapped up the terrific atmosphere while selected for duty at games at both the AJ Bell Stadium (Sale Sharks' home) and the state-of-the-art new Manchester City FC Academy complex.
Training takes place at Oldham RUFC's Manor Park ground every Tuesday between 6-7pm.
Parents of potential new players can call Tim Barlow for more details on 07930 153303.
