FEMALE football stars of the future are invited to a coaching meet and greet by England and Manchester City Women midfielder Jill Scott.

After launching her brand new Womens Football Academy with Hopwood Hall College in September 2016, Jill is on the lookout for local female talent in Oldham, Rochdale, Bury and Manchester to develop in her academy.

Before heading off to the UEFA Womens Euros in the Netherlands this summer, the international stalwart will be hosting an hour-long open night at Hopwood Hall's Sports Park in Middleton on Tuesday, April 18, from 5pm.

Budding Lionesses will have the chance to meet Jill herself, as well as the coaching staff and potential new team mates, should they apply to join Jill's academy.

As a key member of the England team for many years, Jill hopes her knowledge and experience in the game will be passed down to the new young hopefuls.

She said: "I'm really looking forward to meeting the strong young women in the local areas who want to take on the challenge the new academy poses to those looking to better themselves.

"It's a great chance to meet new teammates and coaching staff for those who have already applied to join the academy, and it's a good taster for anyone interested in applying.

"I think it is important that young women have the same level of opportunities as young men in football.

"There is a real hunger for the game in the younger generations and I am eager to help provide the facilities and training for those who want to progress into professional roles surrounding the sport.

"I hope to see as many people as possible on the night to break the ice and show off the top facilities we'll be able to train at."

Any young women aged 15-19 can find out more about Jill's open night by visiting www.hopwood.ac.uk.
